Joseph “Taheim” Bryan, Writer and Producer of Ice-T Film ‘Equal Standard,’ Fatally Shot

Joseph “Taheim” Bryan, writer and producer of the film Ice-T Equal standardswas shot dead Thursday night in New York City.

New York Police Department confirmed The Hollywood Reporter that a unit responded at about 11:18 p.m. to a 911 call outside an apartment complex on Jackson Avenue in Long Island City.

Bryan, 50, was found to have multiple injuries to his arms and torso. He was taken to Mount Sinai hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is still ongoing.

Ice-T tweeted on Friday: “MFs killed my friend last night. I’m not in a good place behind this. Taheim is a GOOD guy when it comes to Positive moves. He wrote and we made the movie EqualStandard together. He leaves behind a Wife & Daughter. The dirty MF organizations followed him home and murdered him.”

Equal standards is a 2020 action crime film released in May and directed by Brendan Kyle Cochrane. Bryan’s additional production credits include 2014 thriller Businessmen.
