He was a father, a son, a nephew, a brother, a nephew and a great friend to those fortunate enough to know him. Nelsan ashamed of his addiction and was therefore reluctant to talk about it all his life. However, his family believes that when he dies he will want his life to be like a cautionary tale in an attempt to help others.
Ellis was born in Harvey, Illinois. He attended Thorn Ridge High School in Doltonand later attended Oxford University and Columbia College in Chicago before graduating from the famous Juilliard School.
Ellis appeared in many movies and TV shows, including Soloist, Butler, Go up and Primary.
The character Lafayette was killed off pretty early in The Mysteries of Southern Vampires books. But Real blood Fans loved the role of Ellis so much, the character survived and appeared regularly on TV.
